Principal's Letter

Dear Cunniff Families,

We are embarking upon the last week of school before our December break.  There is no school  from Monday, December 24 - Tuesday, January 1.  We return to school on Wednesday, January 2.

Students and staff are looking forward to our Winter Concert featuring Cunniff musicians and singers.  Students will attend the performance tomorrow.  Parents and guardians of students performing will attend on Tuesday, December 18 at 8:35, beginning shortly after drop-off.  If you are planning to attend the concert, we will ask families to sign in at the Main Entrance.  Additionally, we ask that students are not dismissed at the end of the performance.  Thank you for helping us by following these important safety protocols.

Last Friday, Made in the Shade performed at Cunniff.  Students enjoyed the performance and did a beautiful job participating by answering questions that involved the evolution of jazz, the spirit and energy of jazz and the historical/social contexts in which jazz evolved.   Ms. Ward does a wonderful job including this focus during music class with students and she was happy to see that they had mastered much of what was taught.  The end result was a very interactive enrichment focus. Special thanks to all the Cunniff families whose contributions help to support enrichment as an integral part of teaching and learning in our school.

Our Main Lobby table this month contains the “happy holiday” greeting in different languages.   Whatever language we speak, holidays we celebrate, or wherever our travels may take us - the faculty, staff and I wish you a magical, safe and beautiful holiday season!

With warmest regards,

Mena Ciarlone, Cunniff Principal
